Fico History
Formerly of FICO is the Building Materials Company No.1 under the Ministry of Construction , was established in 1976. In 1980 renamed to Union of terracotta, Tile Enterprise, under the Ministry of Construction. In 1984 reorganization of the Union of Building Materials Factory No.1, under the Ministry of Construction ( 1390/BXD-TCCB Decision dated 13.10.1984 ) . In 1995 , implementation date 07/3/1994 90/TTg Decision of the Prime Minister on further reorganizing the state-owned enterprises , Building Materials Corporation No.1 was established under Decision No. 997/BXD-TCLD date 20.11.1995 with the following structure :
FiCO has total of 8 member units with 2,189 employees. The main business : Production of building materials such as bricks, tiles , block , ceramic tile , ceramic tiles , kaolin , sanitary ware ; Construction of civil and industrial ; trading building materials ; mineral processing and mining.
* The period from 1996 to 2000:
This is the first year of operating as the 90 Corporation company with 11 member units and 4,865 employees.
* The period from 2001 to May 2005:
FICO has deployed many multidisciplinary projects such as cement production , investment real estate , glass ... and focused in the market development , export- import building materials... operating throughout Vietnam and spread out across the international market. During this period, FICO had had 16 member units (including units dependent) with a total of 7,132 employees.
Since 2003, implementation date 1404/QD-BXD 24/10/2003 Decision of the Minister of Construction, the Company has officially changed its name from BMC No.1 to FiCO and has developed the FICO trademark until now.
* Period from 2006 to 6/2010:
In 2006 FiCO came to operate as a parent company under 2438/QD-BXD by decision of the Ministry of Construction dated 30/12/2005. In this period, FICO include: Parent Company - Corporation and 05 dependent units; 05 Subsidiaries; 14 corporate companies and 02 joint venture companies. Subsidiaries and joint venture companies were under the provisions of equalization. Most of these companies after equalization have been operated effectively such as Hoa An Joint Stock Company; Cotec.Cons JSC...

In particular aims to promote and build FICO trademark in domestic and international customers, resident important practical effects and strategic direction of the premium products line for export.
